Jack Douglas Briner, June 9, 1938 - September 27, 2012

Jack D. Briner, 74, of Waterloo, died Thursday, September 27 at his home.

He was born June 9, 1938 in Waterloo, son of Paul and Marguerite O’Toole Briner. He married Marilyn Dean August 3, 1963 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Jack graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1956. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1963 with a business and history major. He was employed with John Deere for 26 years, retiring January 27, 1993 as a quality audit supervisor.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Michelle Briner of Waterloo; a son, Jon Paul (Tricia) Briner of Independence and a granddaughter, Zoey Briner.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Public visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty – Waychoff – Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway where there will be a 4:00 p.m. rosary. Visitation also for an hour before services at the church on Monday.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, Cedar Bend Humane Society or St. Edward’s School.
