WATERLOO - Matilda Dreesman, 97, of Waterloo, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 26, 1915, in Aplington, daughter of William and Jennie Janssen Peters. She married Edward Dreesman on June 8, 1943, in Parkersburg. He died Dec. 3, 1988.

Mrs. Dreesman graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1935. She was a member of Walnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survived by a son, Edward (Patricia) of Sioux City; two daughters, Rosalie (Pastor Paul) McDowell of White, S.D., and Marilyn (Robert A.) King of Cedar Park, Texas; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jennaven Loy of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a brother, William Peters; and a sister, Marian Frederick.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Friendship Village.
