Elsie Beasley, 87, of Waukee, Iowa, formerly of Evansdale, died at Village at Legacy Pointe Wednesday, May 23, 2012, of injuries from a fall.

She was born January 1, 1925, in Andalusia, Alabama, the daughter of Richard and Nora Bell Teel Davis.

Elsie married Carl Beasley on January 8, 1944 in Andalusia. He died April 3, 1972.

She was a Seamstress at Powers Manufacturing in Waterloo and at Alatex in Alabama. She also worked at the Box Factory in Andalusia, Alabama. Elsie was a member of New Hope Church in Adel, Iowa and Grace Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Elsie enjoyed sewing, cooking and being with her family and friends. She always wanted to go for a ride or go see some kids; she loved just watching the kids play. She read her Bible daily, and read through the Bible several times. She would tell us she would pray for us when we would go on a trip. She didn't want to miss church; even in the winter when it was hard for her to get out.

She is survived by son Richard (Gail) Beasley of Winthrop, Iowa; daughter Beverly (Dennis) Davis of Adel, Iowa; grandchildren are Chad (Aimee) Davis, Brent (Sharla) Davis, Dawn (John) Kvigne, and Kim (Vince) Decker; great-grandchildren are Blake and Mason Davis; Caden, Naiah, Talea Davis and one on the way; Brenna and Reanna Kvigne; and Delainey Decker. Also survived by sisters: Gwen Johnson of Azle, Texas and Auttie Musgrove of Andalusia, Alabama.

Elsie is preceded in death by her parents; husband; infant daughter; brothers Grady and Thomas Davis; and sisters: Effie Kvigne and Edna Black.

Services 11:00 AM, Tuesday May 29, 2012 at Grace Baptist Church 3820 Hammond Ave. in Waterloo. Visitation for an hour before services at the church. Burial at Waterloo Cemetery.
