Robert J. Starbeck, 71, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Latter Day Saints Hospital Salt Lake City of natural causes. He was born September 5, 1935 in Grand Forks, ND, son of Clyde and Esther Bergendahl Starbeck.

He married Barbara A. Taylor on August 31, 1957 in Cedar Falls IA. Bob served with the Army for two years prior to 32 years as a Supervisor at John Deere. He was an active member of El Kahir Shrine Twice Past President of the El Mecca Shrine Club and Past President of the El Kahir Cycle Patrol.

Survivors include his wife; four sons: Jeffery (Deborah) Starbeck of San Jose, CA, Scot (Suzanne) Starbeck, Gregory (Julie) Starbeck, and Michael (Lexa) Starbeck all of Cedar Falls; as well as twelve grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents step-mother Dorcus; and three brothers: Skip, Dick, and Pat.

Memorial service 2 pm Thursday at Prairie Lakes Church visitation 4-8 pm Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup FUneral Service on West Ridgeway Waterloo where there will be an 8 pm public Masonic service.

Memorials may be directed to the church or the Shrine Childrens Hospitals.
