Clifford Marvin Bettis Sr. - October 16, 1922 - June 10, 2007

Clifford M. Bettis Sr. 84, of Cedar Falls died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at Windhaven of natural causes.

He was born October 16, 1922 in Rex 5, son of Lewis and Elizabeth Harrison Bettis.

He married Margaret Anne Crow February 25, 1949 in Waterloo. Clifford was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed with John Deere foundry for 30 years and also farmed in the area.

Survivors include his wife; a son Charles (Terry) Bettis of Atkins; two daughters Peggy Bettis of Waterloo, and Jane Rowray of Cassville, MO; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son Clifford Marvin Bettis Jr;. a granddaughter Jerusalem; six brothers and five sisters.

Joint services for Clifford Sr. and his son Clifford Jr. who died April 17 will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Public visitation will be from 5:00 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Visitation also one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.
