WASHBURN - Ira D. Ellsworth, 74, of Manor Care Center, Waterloo, formerly of 314 Third St., died Monday, Dec. 28, 1998, at the center of natural causes.

He was born March 6, 1924, in St. Joseph, Mo., son of Ira and Laura Jackson Ellsworth.

He married Betty J. Barman on Nov. 14, 1943, in Waterloo.

Mr. Ellsworth was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II in Italy and Brazil. He had worked at Schultz Manufacturing, Miller Medical and VGM Associates, retiring in 1996.

Survived by his wife; a son, Richard D. of Washburn; two daughters, Becky Jo Hall of Sigourney and Cinda Sue Miller of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy of Mason City; and four sisters: Edna McDonald and Issolee Hunt, both of Califonria, Helen Bates of Arizona and Alice Tillman of Montana.

Preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd; and two sisters, Cora McDonald and Velma Ellsworth.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Wednesday at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
