WATERLOO, IOWA - Gertrude Anne Oliphant, 84, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, December 23, 1998, at home of heart failure.

She was born September 5, 1914, in Scotch Grove, daughter of Clarence Alden and Mary Tritten Sackett. She married John Oliphant on June 11, 1932, in Galena, Illinois.

Survived by her husband; two daughters, Carol Oliphant of Cedar Falls and Dolores Good of Waterloo; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Sackett of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Maclennan; four sisters, Martha, Esther, Mildred and Juanita; and three brothers, Elmer, Howard and Lyle.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
