Eleanor Irene Meyer Davis, September 29, 1920- June 27, 2012

Eleanor Davis, 91, formerly of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Jackson, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at her home in Englewood, Florida, with her daughters at her bedside. She was born September 29, 1920, in Brookville, Ohio, to Charles and Ethel Meyer, and married Myron E. Davis on July 28, 1943, in New York
City. Mr. Davis died June 19, 1999.

Eleanor graduated from Brookville High School in Brookville, Ohio, and attended the Ohio State University for almost four years until her husband returned from serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Eleanor was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church in Jackson, Ohio, an avid flower gardener, homemaker and devoted wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband Myron E. Davis, their sons, Robert and Barry, her parents, four brothers, and three sisters.

She is survived by sisters, Helen Evans of Colorado, Gertrude "Trudy" Andre and Frances Meyer, both of Ohio; daughters, Rosalyn Davis of Englewood, FL, and Laraine (Lyle) Bergman of Cedar Falls, IA; a grandson Brent (Angela) Bergman; great granddaughter, Aanah VanHauen, of Waterloo, IA, and cherished nieces, nephews and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Tidewell Hospice, Philanthropy Department, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.

A family graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Cedar Falls, by Chaplain Gerald Hendrickson, under the direction of Richardson Funeral Service.
