Fern E. Petersen, age 80, of Rosewood Estates, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, at her home.

She was born September 7, 1926, in Hazleton, Iowa, the daughter of William and Stella (Skeen) Wolfe.

She married Maurice A. Petersen on November 23, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa. Maurice died on October 11, 2000.

Survivors include three daughters: Cynthia A. (Kenneth) Powers, of Williams, Indiana; Jocelyn J. Petersen and Christina M. Petersen, both of Waterloo; four grandsons: Nathan A., Ezekiel, Immanuel (Kayla Blackwell), and Lordmeister Powers; two great-granddaughters, Kaitlynn Powers, and Sophia Powers; a sister, Cleon Risse, of Waterloo; a nephew Tim Risse of Texas; and a niece, Lynette Risse of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Wolfe and Wilma Wolfe; and a half-brother, Clarence Merrill.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services on Thursday at the church.
