Richard E. Brown, 59, of Waterloo, died Friday, December 8, 2006 at his home of natural causes.

He was born November 17, 1947 in Rock Island, Illinois the son of LuVerne and Shirley Huffey Brown. He married Benita Wildebour on December 27, 1967. Richard served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked at John Deere as an Engineering Analyst.

Survivors include his wife Benita of Waterloo; his parents LuVerne and Shirley Brown of Waterloo; one son Robbe (Timi) Brown of Waterloo; one daughter Angela (Arthur) McCabe of Watertown, New York; four grandchildren; sisters: Jackie (Herb) Clemen of Readlyn, Janet (Bob) Hagen of Anderson, South Carolina, and Jean Downer of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Lyndon Brown of Overland, Park Kansas.

Preceded in death by a son Brian Brown; sister Sharon Paulson; and a brother Ron Brown.

Services will be 11:00 Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted by Waterloo Amvets Post #19 and Evansdale Amvets Post #31. Public visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Monday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway and for an hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday.

Memorials directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
