LICHTY, WAGONER, TURNER, AZBILL, JOHNSON, MILLER

WATERLOO, IOWA — Lynn I. Lichty, 97, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 17, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born August 24, 1914, in Orange Township, son of Harvey and Della Wagoner Lichty. He married Elaine Turner in 1936 and they later divorced. He married Pat Turner in 1964. She died in 2005.

Mr. Lichty graduated from Orange High School. He was a master machinist and supervisor at John Deere for 44 years, retiring in 1978. He also had served in the U.S. Army during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge.

Survived by a son, Terry (Hollace) of Waterloo; two stepsons, Tom Turner and Burton Scott (Linda) Turner, both of Waterloo; a stepdaughter, Penny (Lynn) Azbill of Waterloo; an adopted daughter, Peggy Johnson of Cedar Falls; 18 grandchildren, including Chad (Anita) Wolfe whom he raised; 21 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harry of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Bud; and sister, Marie Miller.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Village Chapel, preceded by burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
