WATERLOO, IOWA — Donald Albert “Diggy” Digmann, 85, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 20, at Covenant Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born April 10, 1927, in Dyersville, son of Albert and Marie Luken Digmann. He married Helen Harn April 29, 1950, in Waterloo.

Mr. Digmann was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a bus driver for the City of Waterloo for 17 years and later was in building maintenance with Chamberlain Manufacturing for 23 years, retiring in 1989.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Steven (Debra) and Randy (Jolene), all of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Matthew (Ashley) Digmann of Tucson, Ariz., Kory (Rachel) Digmann of Waverly and Kerry Digmann of Waterloo; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Albert (Karen) of Branson, Mo., Roger (Nancy) of Monticello and Ron (Joyce) of Dyersville; and four sisters: Shirley Weber of Delhi, Bonnie (Jerry) Pearson of Martelle, Linda Mason of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Carolyn “Cookie” (Gib) Fangman of Earlville.

Preceded in death by three brothers: Lloyd, Alvin and Jerry; and three sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Broell, Madonna Pottebaum and Mary Lou Wink.

Graveside service: 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Cemetery, where full military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls Amvets Post 49 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway.
