CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Edward F. Roggemann, 96, of Cedar Falls, died at his home Saturday, June 2, 2012.

He was born September 15, 1915, in Rockwell, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, the son of John G. and Helen (Lockenmein) Roggemann. He married Betty B. Marker on December 20, 1944, in Waterloo. She died November 26, 2000.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Roggemann served in the Pacific Theater and was a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. He worked as a mechanic for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138 and the Eagles Club, all of Waterloo.

Edward enjoyed traveling, especially RV trips with his wife.

He is survived by four daughters, Joyce Koch and Sandra (Russell) Pedersen, both of Hudson, Janiece (Jeff) Balcken of Helena, Montana, and Rebecca (Dennis) Frazee of Lajunta, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: six brothers, Bill, Carl, Emil, Albert, Henry and John; and four sisters, Anne Roggemann, Emma Muhlstein, Ida Hansen and Helen Shinn.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo, with full military honors by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, Sullivan Brothers VFW Post 1623 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at the chapel.
