WATERLOO — Kenneth R. Williams Sr., 94, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 6, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born July 13, 1917, in Shell Rock, son of Roy and Ella Kublank Williams. He married Lois Bennedict July 10, 1960, at Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died in 1992.

Mr. Williams was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran. He was employed at Chamberlain Manufacturing for four years and worked at Rath Packing Co. for 25 years. He was a member of Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.

He is survived by a sister, Margaret Lenius of Waverly; five grandchildren, Mary Williams, Keri (David) Britton, Randy Dyer, Kelly (Tammy) Dyer and Laurie Albertson; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Kenneth R. “Junior”; a stepson, Robert Dyer; a stepdaughter, Sharon Dyer; three sisters, Lucille Bruns, Dorothy Nichols and Wreatha Swab; and three brothers, Clyde, Forrest and Estel Williams.

Services: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Full military honors will be accorded by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Ken was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends and was a great storyteller. Ken liked being outdoors, especially fishing.
