INDEPENDENCE — Genevieve Satterlee Cook, 86, of Silver Spring, Md., formerly of Independence, died Wednesday, July 4, in Silver Spring.

She was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Independence, daughter of Arthur Amos and Lois Miriam Hayzlett Satterlee. She married Clarence Harlan Cook. He died in 1994.

Mrs. Cook was a registered nurse before she retired.

Survived by two sons, Larry (Catherine Fletcher) of Melbourne, Australia, and Craig A. of San Francisco; two daughters, Kathleen (Henry) Schmidt of Silver Spring, Md., and Suzanne (Barry) Rosloff of Garrett Park, Md.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Clark Satterlee of Independence; and two sisters, Sheila Lamphier of Independence and Sharon Kessler of Monterrey, Calif.

Preceded in death by two brothers, John Satterlee and Jerome Satterlee.

Private family services are planned at White Funeral Home, with burial in Wilson Cemetery, both in Independence.
