WATERLOO, IOWA — Beverly Jean Gorsuch, 78, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 27, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born April 21, 1934, in Waterloo, daughter of John and Gladys Burk Gorsuch. She married Donald D. Trostel Oct. 21, 1953, in Waterloo. He died July 2, 1966. She married Richard A. Thenhaus Jan. 4, 1974, in Waterloo. He died in June 1987.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1952. She was a bookkeeper for Kroblin Transportation in Waterloo, BFC Transportation in Cedar Rapids, and Newton Manufacturing, retiring in 1993.

Beverly had been a lifelong member of Linden United Methodist Church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, working puzzle books, reading and spending time with grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Kermit) Larsen of Cedar Falls, and Diane (John) Redmond of Watkins; four sons: David (Brenda) Trostel of Newton, son Donald (Teresa) Trostel of Aurora, Colo., Daniel (Bonnie) Trostel of San Marcos, Calif., and Douglas (Isabel) Trostel of Chesterfield, Va.; a stepdaughter, Kelley (Paul) Mattingly of Newton; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis (Marcia) Gorsuch of Johnson City, Tennessee; three aunts: Dorothy Bloom, Mariam Einfelt and Fonda Stitt, all of Waterloo; and an uncle, Raymond Burk of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Darold and Forest Gorsuch; and many aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Linden United Methodist Church, Waterloo, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
