WATERLOO — Marion “Lucy” O’Neal, 72, of Waterloo, died at home Sunday, June 24, of natural causes.

She was born June 15, 1940, in Durant, Miss., daughter of Walter Anderson and Gurdine Collier. She married Henry Lloyd Kennedy Sr. He died in 1970. She then married Johnnie L. O’Neal, and he died in 1981.

She was formerly employed at John Deere.

Survived by nine daughters: Bobbie (Curtis) Wright, Mary (Lee) Galloway and JoAnne O’Neal, all of Waterloo, Willie J. (Alvin) Veasley, Ann Lee (Jessie) Lee, Jhaenie (Walter) McDonald and Virginia O’Neal, all of Milwaukee, Mary A. (Lucin) Wyant of Des Moines and Delora McGill of Dallas; 30 grandchildren; 68 great-grandchildren; three sons, Henry “Hank” (Connie) Kennedy of Waterloo, Robert (Sally) Lewis of Milwaukee and Sherman (Carol) Kennedy of Chicago.

Preceded in death by a son, Jessie O’Neal; two daughters, an infant twin, Loretta Kennedy, and Eyvonne Hughes; a grandson, Gary Lewis; a granddaughter, Shannon Martin; and a great-great-grandson, Deangelo Harris.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Payne Memorial AME Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. today at St. Mark Baptist Church. Sanders Funeral Service is assisting the family.
