WATERLOO, IOWA - Jack Casebeer Wood Jr., 91, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at Friendship Village Pavilion, from complications of a stroke.

He was born on January 9, 1921, in Waterloo, son of Jack Casebeer Sr. and Dorothy Ellen Conley Wood. He married Margret Ruth Baugh on Feb. 4, 1943, at Union Gospel Church, Waterloo. She died Sept. 4, 2010.

Mr. Wood attended Waterloo West High School and had worked at John Deere, Sun Prairie Wisconsin Public Schools and retired from Toys ‘R' Us.

Jack is survived by a son, Jack Casebeer III (Darleen) of Crosby, Minnesota; two daughters, Jackie Kay (Larry) Shinn of Waterloo and Karen Ann (Glenn) Davison of Tucson, Arizona; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, with a great-grandson on the way; and a sister, Elizabeth Porter of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Erma DeYoung; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Friendship Village chapel, followed by military honors. Burial will be at a later date. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Friendship Village Auxiliary.
