WATERLOO — Patricia L. “Pat” Thomas, 76, of Waterloo, died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born June 21, 1935, in Fayette County, daughter of John and Katherine Gamm Burrack. She married Lester Thomas Dec. 5, 1954, in Aurora. He died July 22, 1996.

She graduated from Aurora High School in 1953, and graduated from Gates Business College. Mrs. Thomas was an executive secretary to the president of Waterloo Savings Bank from 1966 until retirement in 1992. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Business and Business and Professional Women’s Association.

Survived by two daughters, Ann (Mark) DeBerg and Rhonda (Thomas) Hayes, all of Waterloo; three grandchildren: Ryan DeBerg of Las Vegas, and Christine (Jesse) VanDerVeer and Tyler Hayes, all of Waterloo; and a great-granddaughter, Zoe VanDerVeer.

Preceded in death by Sister Maxine Hall.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, and will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.
