WATERLOO — Marlys J. Lamb, 79, of Waterloo, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center of complications of COPD.

She was born May 17, 1933, in Iowa City, daughter of Aaron J. and Zelma E. Short Sprague. She married Darrell Lee Moore Sept. 29, 1951, at Methodist Church in Junction City, Kan. He died Feb. 22, 1974. She married Calvin R. Lamb April 11, 1975, in Waterloo. He died Aug. 23, 2007.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1950. She was a data administrator at Waterloo Industries and worked for K Mart, retiring from Black Hawk County Health Department as an in-home care provider. She was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church.

Survived by a son, Martin (Gayle) Moore of Henderson, Nev.; two stepsons, Darwin (Pam) Moore of Harlan and Dan (Linda) Lamb of Janesville; three stepdaughters: Sidni (Cheryl Baker) Lamb of Albuquerque, N.M., Kim (Keith) Rizner of Peyton, Colo., and Kathy (Bob) Burkhart of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Elaine (Paul) Rathbone of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a son, Scott Larry Moore.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
