WATERLOO — Perry K. Miller, 97, of Waterloo, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village.

He was born Oct. 3, 1914, on his parents’ farm in Orange Township, son of Ephriam and Bertha Kline Miller. He married Dorothy J. Stockdale on June 7, 1941, in Charles City. She died Dec. 17, 2004.

He graduated from Orange High School in 1933. In 1938 he went to work for Sugar Grove Farm in Aurora, Ill., caring for and showing their Belgian horses. In 1941 he returned to farm in Orange and Eagle Townships until 1976. He was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren and helped organize the local Holstein Association.

Survived by a son, P. Lee (Barbara) of Waterloo; a daughter, Meri Kay (Henry) Shepard of La Porte City; five grandchildren: Kathryn (Nathan) Piller of Blooming Prairie, Minn., Grant (Faith) Miller and Seth (Lori) Shepard, both of La Porte City, Tasha Thomson of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Gabe (Emily) Shepard of Denver; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn Cunningham of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Petersen and Dorothy Wood.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, preceded by burial at 10:45 a.m. in Orange Township Cemetery. Visitation from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home.
