WATERLOO - Wayne F. Swacker, 74, of Waterloo, died Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Allen Hospital.

He was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Charles City, son of Walter C. and Lilas M. McGrane Swacker. He married Betty J. Silhanek on June 23, 1962, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Tama.

Mr. Swacker graduated from Charles City High School, and was employed as a tool maker at Waterloo Industries for 38 years, retiring in 2000.

Survived by his wife; two sons, Todd (Chris) of Waterloo and Jeff (Terri) of Sedalia, Mo.; a daughter, Penny Wright of Dysart; five granddaughters, Sarah Dhein, and Tessa, Shelbi, Megan and Emily Swacker; and two sisters, Sharon (Lou) Streich of Charles City and Shirley Haugen of Bettendorf.

Preceded in death by two grandchildren, Taylor and Travis Swacker.

Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 5 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
