DUNKERTON, IOWA - Gerard Joseph "Jerry" Knipp, 56, of Dunkerton, formerly of Waterloo, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo, of natural causes.

He was born March 9, 1956, in Waterloo, son of Raymond and Lillian Horna Knipp. He married Terry Lynette Miller on Sept. 19, 1980, in Waterloo, and they later divorced.

Mr. Knipp graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1974. He was employed at A-Line Iron and Metals for more than 25 years. He also served as the manager of Fairview Cemetery, Waterloo, for 10 years.

He is survived by three sons, Tony, Scotty and Jimmy, all of Waterloo; two daughters, Candy Knipp of Cedar Rapids and Crystal Knipp of Waterloo; two brothers, James (Conchita) of Moneta, Va., and David (Marcia) of Waterloo; and two sisters, Helen (Joe) Hellman of Washburn and Mary (Jerry) Sisemore of Roseburg, Ore.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Kathleen Clemen.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
