CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Elfriede E. Frackiewicz, 92, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Elizabeth E. Martin Health Center of the Western Home Communities.

She was born October 13, 1919, in Heigenbrücken, Germany, daughter of Karl and Anna Heinold Düsel. She married Zygmunt Frackiewicz on Sept. 15, 1951, in Bielefeld, Germany. He died Dec. 10, 1992.

Mrs. Frackiewicz earned a nursing degree in Germany, where she worked as a pediatric nurse. She later was employed as a nurse's aide with Boorom Nursing Home and the Western Home, both in Cedar Falls.

She is survived by: two sons, Roman (Penny) of Waterloo and Marion (Esther) of Skokie, Illinois; a daughter, Susanna (Jesse) Frackiewicz-Ponce of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Irmgard Düsel.

Family-directed memorial services will be held at a later date. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Bend Humane Society.
