WATERLOO — Elva V. Dreier, 91, of Waterloo, died Sunday, April 29,2012 at Allen Hospital.

She was born Nov. 22, 1920, on a farm near Aplington, daughter of Ecko and Fanny Deters Mennen. She married Virgil Dreier in 1956 in Warren. He died in July 1962.

Mrs. Dreier worked at various restaurants, helped care for people in their homes and worked in the kitchen at Country View care center.

Survived by two daughters, Lori (Terry) King of Fort Francis, Ontario, Canada, and Anita (Roland) Meester of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Cecil (Evelyn) Mennen of Columbus Junction; and four sisters, Eunice Kuhn of Charles City, Delores (Robert) Herington of Cedar Rapids, Imogene (Harford) Moyle of Springfield, Mo., and Rosalind (Terry) Andreassen of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by three brothers, Ecko, Gordon and Richard Mennen; and two sisters, Gertrude Neymeyer and Florence Jansen.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Garden of Memories.
