CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Elsie A. Gutgesell, 94, of Cedar Falls, formerly of Watertown, South Dakota, died Sunday, June 17, at Windsor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born July 22, 1917, in Delmont, South Dakota, daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Wilhelm and Paulina Grosz Reinfeld. She married Leon B. Jerke on October 20, 1935, in Delmont. He died January 22, 1962. She married Elmer G. Gutgesell on Aug. 18, 1972, in Yankton, South Dakota. He died March 26, 1985.

Mrs. Gutgesell was employed with Cimpl's Meat Processing for 10 years, retiring in 1972.

She is survived by two sons, Marlyn (Lois) Jerke of Cedar Falls and Robert (Marilyn) Jerke of Mossyrock, Wash.; a daughter, Ellen (Darwyn) Maas of Brandon, S.D.; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Theodore "Ted" Reinfeld; and a sister, Alma Bogenhagen.

Funeral services will be on Monday at St. Martin's Lutheran Church, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Watertown. There will be no local services. Richardson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
