WATERLOO, IOWA -- Keith Albert Baker, 42, Waterloo, formerly of Gunder, died at home Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Keith was born January 5, 1970, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Barbara L. (Jarm) Baker.

Keith graduated from Prospect High School in Arlington Heights. He attended WR Harper Community College, Palatine, Ill. After an automobile accident in 1989, Keith suffered from long-term complications. He was a resident of a group home in Waterloo. He worked as a custodian and mowed lawns. Before his accident he enjoyed hunting, canoeing, football, track and he was very active with the Boy Scouts of America Explorer Program. After his accident he enjoyed spending time with his family, any outdoor farm activity, reloading shotgun shells, action movies and board games.

Keith is survived by his parents, Tom and Barbara of Gunder; three siblings, Kathleen (Kenneth) Butzen of Hudson, Wis., Mark (Ellen) Baker, Champlin, Minn., and Michael (Stephanie A.) Baker of North Richland Hills, Texas; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Wyatt) Fisher, Stephanie B. Baker, Matthew (Bethany) Butzen, Thomas Baker, Lauren Maley and Robbie Slay; and two great-nieces, Kalyn and Kinsley Fisher. Keith was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Audrey Baker; and his maternal grandparents, John L. and Alberta (Koester) Jarm.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, at Marion Lutheran Church, with burial to follow in Marion Lutheran Cemetery, both in Gunder.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, June 22, at the Marion Lutheran Church, Gunder, and one hour before services on Saturday.

Memorials may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Iowa, 7025 Hickman Road, Suite 7, Urbandale, IA 50322.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Clermont, is helping the family with the arrangements.
