WATERLOO, IOWA — Donald Lee Nolting, 65, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 23, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

He was born August 6, 1946, in Waterloo, son of Harold P. and Estella G. Owen Nolting. He married Beverly Morrow in November 1967, and they later divorced.

Mr. Nolting graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1964 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1966-1971. He has owned and operated Allen Glass Co. for the past 45 years.

Survived by a daughter, Heather Nolting (Lindsey Allen Baker) of Seattle; a son, Matt (Emily) of Waterloo; and three grandchildren, Jack and Avery Nolting and Bryn Baker.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Jr.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Nazareth Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cedar Falls, with private inurnment at a later date in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Waterloo. Full military rites will be conducted at the church by Waterloo AMVETS Post 19, Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and the Iowa Army Honor Guard. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice.

Everyone who knows Don knows he was very caring and giving in all aspects of his life. His children and three grandchildren meant the world to him and he was affectionately known by his grandchildren as “Grandpa Dude”!!
