Vera Mae (Schroyer) Norris Danker Crane
March 29, 1899 -- June 9, 1944

DYSART, IOWA — Mrs. Lee Crane, 45, Friday night at her home here of carcinoma; nee Vera Mae Schroyer, March 29, 1899; she was married to Jack Norris in November, 1918, at La Porte City; they were parents of six children, Mrs. Charlotte Walker, South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Hazel Grow, Maria City, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Mischler, Altoona, Iowa; Jack Norris, in the navy at San Pedro, Calif.; Max Norris, in the navy at Seattle, Wash., and Dora Norris, at home; Mrs. Norris was married to Alfred Danker May 16, 1934, and he preceded her in 1939; on Sept. 30, 1942, she was married to Lee Crane, who survives.

Former Resident Passes in Dysart

Mrs. Lee Crane, 45, died Friday night at her home in Dysart of carcinoma; nee Vera Mae Schroyer, March 29, 1899; she was married to Jack Norris in November 1918, at La Porte City. They were the parents of six children, Mrs. Charlotte Walker, South Gate, Calif.; Mrs. Hazel Gross, Marin City, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Mischler, Altoona, Iowa; Jack Norris, in the navy at San Pedro, Calif.; Max Norris, in the navy at Seattle, Wash., and Dora Norris, at home; Mrs. Norris was married to Alfred Danker May 16, 1934, and he preceded her in 1939; on September 30, 1942, she was married to Lee Crane, who survives.

Also surviving are a half-brother, Charles E. Schroyer of San Jose, Calif., and a half-sister, Mrs. Merle Walker of La Porte City.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Barnhart and Johannsen funeral home at La Porte City, Rev. A. E. Coe, pastor of the Methodist church at Dysart officiating. Burial was made in West View cemetery at La Porte City. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Burr sang two numbers as a part of the service.

The remains were taken to Dysart, where a prayer service was held before the funeral services here. Casket bearers were Ted Johannsen, G. E. Loveless, John Dutler, Milo Betts, Clifford Burr and Russell Mishler.
