MRS. BETTY JEAN HEMENWAY

Mrs. Betty Jean Hemenway, 48, of Laurel, Mississippi, formerly of Waterloo, died as the result of an automobile accident there Sunday evening.

She was born May 19, 1924, in Raymond, the daughter of Everett and Elsie Bryson Stocks.

She was married December 6, 1941, at Lancaster, MO, to Henry F. Hemenway.

Mrs. Hemenway moved to Mississippi about a year ago. She was a Catholic.

Surviving are her husband, of Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Melvin Gardner of Dewar, Mrs. Celia Wright of Arkansas Pass, Texas, and Teresa and Gloria Hemenway of Dewar; seven sons, Max, Sgt, Ronny of Lowry Air Force Base, Colorado, Fredrick of Waverly, Henry, Sp4 Philip of the U.S. Army in Porter, Indiana, Anthony of Great Lakes Naval Base, Chicago, and Thomas of Dewar; 14 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Elsie Stocks of 1211 Sycamore Street; five sisters: Mrs. Jaunita Morgan of 700 W. 4th St., Mrs. James Brusseau of rural Waterloo, Mrs. Kenneth Hack of North Platte, Nebraska, Mrs. James Bisbee of Waterloo, and Mrs. Lonnie Richards of 216 Doyle Dr., Evansdale; four brothers: James Stocks of West Union, Charles Stocks of Love Park, Illinois, Lester Stocks, of Buena Park, California, and Donald Stocks of Conrad.

She was preceded in death by her father and one daughter.

Services are pending at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.
