Glenn Knoll was born April 18, 1915, in rural Kesley, Iowa, the son of Ervin K. and Adella Eva (Yost) Knoll. He died Saturday, October 9, 2004, at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly, Iowa, where he had resided since his health decline in 1999.

He graduated from Allison High School in 1935 and then served in the United States Navy through World War II to his honorable discharge in 1945 as Chief Petty Officer.

Glenn was united in marriage to Angeline A, Neymeyer on December 7, 1945, in Nashua, Iowa. Following the service he worked as an Oculist for Bausch and Lomb in Waterloo and then was with the University of Northern Iowa for 28 years, retiring in 1981 as university locksmith. Glenn was an active member of First Baptist Church for many years.

Surviving Glenn is his wife of Cedar Falls, Iowa; and his son and daughter in-law, Brock and Joy Knoll also of Cedar Falls.

Preceding Glenn in death were his parents; two sisters, Netha Van Hoven and Nina Miller; three brothers, Harold, Merle and Fred Knoll.
