Marvin W. Lewis, 60, of Waterloo, died Monday, December 18, 2006, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born August 20, 1946, in Waterloo, the son of Morran and Margaret (Peatow) Lewis.

He married Nancy Minikus in 1964. They later divorced. He married Janet L.Walton on May 15, 1977. She died on February 1, 1994. He then married Doris D. (Huisman) Smith on January 14, 2006, in Waterloo.

He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed with John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, before retiring in November of 2005.

Survived by his wife; three daughters, Dr. Sheila (Dr. Kevin) Taylor of Pekin, IL, Shelley (Clay) Helm of Flora, IL, and Melinda Lewis of Kansas City, MO; one step-daughter, Jill Bartels of Cedar Falls; eight grandchildren; his mother, Margaret Tehel of Waterloo; two brothers, Bob (Capi) Lewis of Hudson, IA, and Fred (Gwen) Lewis of Charlotte, NC.; and a sister, Karen (Johnnie Ray Barker) Flood of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: his father; and step-father, Ray Tehel.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 am Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, with interment in Garden of Memories, both in Waterloo. Military Honors will be provided by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. Public visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, and for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice Home, or the church.
