Born in Chillicothe, Missouri on Feb. 25, 1959
Departed on Jul. 22, 2006 and resided in Waterloo, IA.

Jack L. Odom, 47, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Country View Care Center, Waterloo, Iowa.

Jack was born on February 25, 1959 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the son of Dale and Claudia Akars Odom. He attended school in Waverly and Marshalltown. He received his GED in Marshalltown in 1982.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Adelmund from 1979 to 1986. He was united in marriage to Penny Hites from 1986 to 1998.

On May 21, 2000 he suffered a severe brain injury as a result of a car accident. After the accident he lived in Ankeny and eventually he moved to the Country View Care Center in Waterloo.

Over the years Jack enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles, raising red bone coon hounds and he also was proud to show his dogs.

Jack is survived by his five sons, Josh Odom and his wife, Brandi of Osage, Iowa; Jeremy Odom and his friend, Alicia Hernandez of Marshalltown, Iowa; Christopher P. Odom of Marshalltown, Iowa; Christopher J. Odom and his friend Lindsay Bryan of New Hampton, Iowa; Spencer Odom of Greene, Iowa; his grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Alayna, Aleigha, Christian, Hailey, and another grandchild is due in September; one brother, Daniel Odom of Foreman, Arkansas; one sister, Dolores Odom and her friend, Dean Haskin of Plainfield, Iowa, his father, Dale Odom of Foreman, Arkansas, nieces and nephews, Steven, Jodee, Ty and Jessie.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia Odom in 2002, a brother, Ronald Odom in 1996 and his best friend Leo Heath in 1994.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at 1:30 pm at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, Iowa. Burial will be in Rock Grove Cemetery, Nora Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11:30 am to service time at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly.
