WATERLOO — Viola Fisher, 95, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 28, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Benton County, daughter of William and Matilda Rupprich Hilmer. She married George “Joe” Fisher on Jan. 18, 1939, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua. He died May 20, 1973.

Mrs. Fisher worked at Hinson Manufacturing for 30 years, retiring in 1979.

Survived by a son, Richard “Dick” (Pat) of Dike; a daughter, Norma (Jim) Harrison of Miamisburg, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren;

Preceded in death by a great-grandson, Michael Fisher; and four brothers, Edward, William, Clarence and LeRoy Hilmer.

Memorial services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, preceded by an hour of visitation, with inurnment in Garden of Memories Cemetery at a later date.

After retiring, Viola enjoyed bowling, playing cards in a card club, and bird watching from her house.
