Laura (Long) Byers – November 10, 1868 – May 18, 1946
MRS. LAURA BYERS
Mrs. Laura Byers, 78, died at 722 Baltimore Street at 10:10 p.m. Saturday of complications incident to advanced age.
She was born Laura Long on November 10, 1868, at Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of Nathan and Ellen Long.
In May, 1926, she was married to George Byers at Waverly, Iowa. They moved to Waterloo in 1938 from Watertown, South Dakota, where they had resided for the past 20 ears.
Mrs. Byers was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, one brother, Victor Long, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Seydel, all of 722 Baltimore Street.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Kearns Garden Chapel by Rev. Charles F. Jacobs, pastor of First Congregational church. Burial will be at LaPorte City, Iowa
