WATERLOO - L. Maxine Buchan, 89, of Libertyville, Ill., formerly of Waterloo, died Saturday, March 17, at Manor Care, Libertyville.

She was born Dec. 25, 1922, in Vinton, daughter of Carl and Hazel Hunt Williams. She married Burnett W. Buchan on Aug. 9, 1942, in Vinton. He died Aug. 15, 2004.

Mrs. Buchan was a cook at Yankee Kitchen for 11 years.

Survived by two brothers, Harley (Edith) Williams of La Porte City and Lyle (Mary) Williams of Vinton.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Everett and Robert Williams.

Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel Funeral Home, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
