CEDAR FALLS — Larry E. Timion, 73, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 16, at his home.

He was born March 19, 1938, in Waterloo, son of Floyd and Helen Conley Timion. He married Cheryl S. Shoesmith June 9, 1962, in Waterloo.

He graduated from Waverly High School in 1956, and received a bachelor’s degree from University of Northern Iowa in 1965. Mr. Timion taught history and coached in Edgewood and Colesburg, and at Peet Junior High in Cedar Falls, retiring in 1973. He worked for Professional Office Service in Waterloo, and was in management with Hallmark cards in Kansas City, Kan., and Enfield, Conn.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Tom Patrick (Kristy Smith) of Clinton, Toby Lane (Karie) of Chanhassen, Minn., and Tyler Brenaen of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Graham, Paige and Brock Timion; two brothers, Darrell (Lesley) Timion of Dromana, Australia and Don Johnson of Waverly; six sisters, Carolyn (Dale) Eden and Gwen (Steve) Holding, all of Janesville, Almyra (John) Holding of Mason City, Mary (Bob) Roettenbacher and Donna (Bob) Mehmen, all of Shell Rock, and Rhonda (Nathan) Underwood of Blooming Prairie, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, with inurnment in St. Luke’s Columbarium. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed St. Luke's Episcopal Church or Waverly Shell-Rock High School Athletics.
