CEDAR FALLS — Raymond John Roberts, 90, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 16, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

He was born Dec. 29, 1921, in Renville, Minn., son of Henry James and Fanny Bright Roberts. He married Margery Maifeld Dec. 25, 1943, at Camp Roberts, Calif.

Mr. Roberts was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He worked for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1982.

Survived by his wife; a son, Gary (Cynthia) of Osh Kosh, Wis.; six grandchildren, Jeanette Francis of Waterloo, Lenette (Nick) Tangen of Cedar Falls, Michael (Sandra) Roberts and Nathan (Crystal) Roberts, all of Waterloo, Amity (Ryan) Olson of Baraboo, Wis., and Adam (Marlene) Roberts of Little Chute, Wis.; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Tommy (Darlene) of Evansdale.

Preceded in death by a son, Larry; a brother, Earl; and a sister, Shirley Dietrich.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial in Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Care Initiative Hospice.

Raymond enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
