CEDAR FALLS - Rusty R. Kibbee, 44, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Cedar Falls, died at home Friday, March 9.

He was born Sept. 15, 1967, in Topeka, Kan., son of William L. and Delores L. Beardmore Kibbee. He married Sonya J. Mueller on Aug. 3, 2002.

Mr. Kibbee graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1986 and served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring in August 2006. In retirement he was employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Virginia, constructing the USS George H.W. Bush Aircraft Carrier. In 2009 he moved to Jefferson City, where he was presently employed at Modine Manufacturing Co.

Survived by his wife; three sons, Daniel and Trevor Kibbee and Jordan Mueller, all of Jefferson City; his mother of Waterloo; a brother, Wayne of Hudson; and two sisters, Dawn (Brent) Janssen of Allison and Cherrie (Larry) Northrup of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by his father; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Lillie Kibbee; and maternal grandparents, Calvin and Thelma Beardmore.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo, with military honors conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49 Honor Guard and Iowa National Guard. Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and for an hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
