WATERLOO - The Rev. Keith E. Clark, 57, of Waterloo, died Friday, March 9, at Allen College.

He was born Feb. 18, 1955, in Murray, Utah, son of Bruce and Vonda Alexander Clark. He married Susan M. Senft McDaniel on Nov. 3, 1990, in Davenport.

The Rev. Clark earned a bachelor’s degree in religion and journalism from Texas Christian University in 1977; a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School in 1981; Clinical Pastoral Education Chaplain Residency from St. Cloud VA Health Care System in 2006; and was ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1981.

He was administrative assistant to the dean of academic affairs at Allen College, chaplain for Iowa Hospice, former pastor at Central Christian Church, Waterloo, and Cedar Memorial Christian Church, Davenport, former staff assistant with United Marriage Encounter, Muscatine, and former associate editor of "Disciple" magazine for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) denomination.

He was an Eagle Scout, member of Phi Beta Kappa, former clergy team couple with United Marriage Encounter and member of Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Committee and Black Hawk County Democrats.

Survived by his wife; a stepdaughter, Colleen McDaniel of Houston; his mother, Vonda Alexander of Catalina, Ariz.; a brother, Kenneth of Phoenix; two sisters, Kathleen (Al) Jaegers of Tucson and Kay Thill of Catalina; two nieces, Kayla and Nicole Thill, both of Catalina; his mother-in-law, Marita Jurs of Ottawa, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Nancy Harris of Ottawa.

Preceded in death by his father; and two brothers-in-law, Nick Thill and Robert Harris.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Orchard Hill Church, Cedar Falls, with cremation to follow. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Pioneer Bible Translators or National Sheltie Rescue.
