CEDAR FALLS - Elmer Leo Ballhagen, 101, of Cedar Falls, formerly of New Hartford, died Tuesday, March 6, at Windsor Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born April 20, 1910, near New Hartford, son of Leon and Pearl Townsend Ballhagen. He married Alma June de Neui on June 10, 1955, in Cedar Falls.

Before his retirement, Mr. Ballhagen was a carpenter and farmer in the New Hartford area.

Survived by his wife; two sons, David of Cedar Falls and Wesley (Sherri) of Shell Rock; a daughter, Mary (Gary) Dempster of Garnavillo; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Esther Rittgers and Beulah DeVries; and two brothers, Wayne and Lloyd.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Cedar Falls Gospel Hall, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, New Hartford. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home assisted the family.
