WATERLOO — Margaret Thomas Koopman, 68, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center of natural causes.

She was born July 30, 1943, in Minter City, Miss., daughter of Kelly Thomas and L. B. Smith. She married Ron Koopman in Waterloo. They later divorced.

Survived by a daughter, Elma Thomas of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Atavia (Raymond) Norman of Lexington Park, Md., and Landon Newman (Cierra) of Charlotte, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Ramareon, Rylend and Aubrie; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family; an adopted brother, Brock Alexander; two aunts, Ida Mae Reed and Willie Mae Sudduth, both of Waterloo; two nieces, Mary and Jane Tucker, both of Waterloo; and three nephews, Anthony Tucker of Waterloo, Roy Tucker of Louisiana, and James Tucker of Denver, Colo.

Service: 11 a.m. Monday at Cathedral of Faith Church, with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Sanders Funeral Service, and will continue for an hour before services Monday at the church.
