Charlene Jacque, 77, of Denver, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 03, 2012 at her residence in rural Denver.

Charlene Joann Jacque was born on May 13, 1934, the daughter of Anthony Rudolph and Erma Louise (Anderson) Thedens in Independence, Iowa. She was baptized at the Rowley Presbyterian Church and confirmed in May of 1975 at Immanuel Lutheran Church – Klinger rural Readlyn. She graduated from Rowley High School in 1951 and then attended Iowa State Teachers College for two years.

On August 19, 1958, she was united in marriage to Donald Jacque at St. Joseph (Prairie) Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Charlene taught school at the La Porte City elementary, Monticello elementary, River Hills Adult Education, The Newell Post Adult Education, Bremer County Care Facility and finally at the Larrabee Center in Waverly. She retired from teaching in 2002.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Artesian rural Waverly.

Survivors are her husband, Donald of Denver, Iowa; her six children, Kye A. Jacque of Readlyn, Kris (Pamela) Jacque of Denver, Kori L. (Timothy) Rohwer of Ankeny, Kara J. Jacque Rump of Newhall, Kelli (Steven) Grubbs of Davenport and Kreig A. (Amber) Jacque of Riverside; 21 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Thedens of Clear Lake; and by a sister, Delpha (David) Musgrave of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by a son-in-law, Greg Rump.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Artesian rural Waverly. Burial will follow in the Rowley Cemetery in Rowley. Friends may call from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Denver and also an hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – Artesian.
