WATERLOO — Ella Mae Pelton, 90, of Waterloo, died Thursday, March 1, at Country View Care Facility.

She was born July 20, 1921, in Urbana, daughter of Ray and Florence Burrell Geiger. She married Eugene A. Pelton April 5, 1942, in Waterloo. He died Nov. 9, 1982.

Mrs. Pelton graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1939. She worked at Rath Packing Co., and was a waitress at Hickory House for 24 years, retiring in 1986. She was a member of Central Christian Church, and was past president of International King’s Daughters and Sons Women’s Relief Corp.

Survived by three sons, Charles (Marilyn) and Jerry, all of Waterloo, and Allan (Laurie) of Jesup; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, and a sister, Nina Kline of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Smith; a son, Terry; a grandson; a sister, Cara Stainbrook; and a brother, Gene Geiger.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Waterloo Cemetery. Public visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to Country View Care Facility or Cedar Valley Hospice.
