Fred H. Christensen, 61,
Victim of Fractured Skull.

Fred H. Christensen, 61, of 600 Riehl street, died Thursday at 4:45 a.m. in Sartori Memorial Hospital, Cedar Falls, where he was taken Tuesday morning following an accident in which his skull was fractured.

He fell head first on a concrete floor when the scaffolding upon which he was doing carpenter work at the Woolverton Printing Co., Cedar Falls, broke. He was a foreman for the Wildes Construction Co., Waterloo.

Born on January 21, 1885, in Denmark, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred** Christensen. He came to this country at the age of 18 and settled at Cedar Falls. Seven years ago he brought his family to Waterloo.

Mr. Christensen was a member of St. Ansgar's Danish Lutheran Church and of the Danish Brotherhood.

Surviving, in addition to the widow are three sons, Fred H., Jr., 911 Riehl street; Clayton, Albia, Iowa, and Lt Paul believed en route home from Leyte; three daughters, Mrs. Karen Petersen, Route 1, Waterloo, and Margaret and Betty, at home; one brother, Robert, Guthrie Center, Iowa, and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister.

The body was taken to O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending possible arrival of Paul Christensen.

Fred H. Christensen, 61, of 600 Riehl Street, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church with Rev. A. E. Frost, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery. The body will remain at O'Keef & Towne Funeral Home until 1 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.

NOTES:

**FindaGrave researcher, Chuck, found Fred's parents in the 1925 Iowa census and his Dad is listed there as "Niels Frederick Christensen" (1882-1939). Neils apparently went by his middle name of "Fred." Chuck also shows his mother as "Sophia E. Jorgensen Christensen" (1886-1961).
