CEDAR FALLS - Betty Lenore Wittren, 78, of Cedar Falls, died Wednesday, May 11, at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Newton, daughter of Guy William and Isabell Schwind Morelock. Her mother died shortly after childbirth and she was then raised by father and stepmother, Dean Morelock. She married Richard A. Wittren Nov. 11, 1945, in Cedar Falls.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Karl R. (Cheryl) of Cedar Falls and William A. (Karin) of Ankeny; five daughters, Joan M. (Dean) Smith of Waterloo, Karen K. (Ed) York of Sharon, Wis., and Rebecca A. (Chris) Nelson, Karla D. (James) Trower and Cynthia M. (Tony) French, all of Cedar Falls; 16 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bonnie Kay Lorenz of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Bobby Morelock; and a grandson.

Services: 1 p.m. Sunday at the United Church of Christ, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Sunday at the church.

Memorial fund will be established.
