Talmage J. "John" Roberts, 72, of 320 Bertch Avenue, died on Saturday, January 15, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center Emergency Room of a massive heart attack. He was born on January 22, 1932 in Halls, TN, the son of William Talmage and Ewell Lee (Johnson) Roberts.

He married Patricia (Patty) McClintock on June 16, 1957 at the First Presbyterian Church in Fort Dodge, IA. Talmage graduated from Ripley High School in Ripley, TN. He served in the United States Navy from 1951-1955 and worked at John Deere's in the safety department for 30 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Waterloo American Legion.

Talmage is survived by his wife, Patty; and two sisters, Sue Hamby of Buchanan, TN, and Becky Hopkins and her husband Owen of Ripley, TN.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Jackie Freeman
