CEDAR FALLS - Hazel M. Haan, 95, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, Feb. 13, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

She was born July 7, 1916, in Dike, daughter of Peter A. and Dagmar Slifsgard Johnson. She married Alvin L. Haan Sept. 25, 1940, at Fredsville Lutheran Church, Fredsville. He died Oct. 27, 2002.

She graduated from Dike High School. Mrs. Haan worked at the electric company in Parkersburg for many years, and later worked in the office at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls for 13 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by a son, Keith A. of Davenport; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Rogers of Cedar Falls; three grandchildren, Craig (Gina) Haan, Darin (Meghan) Rogers and Angie Rogers; three great-grandchildren, Madison, Andrew and Alex; and a sister, Helen E. Kluesner of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a son, Neil R.; five brothers, Arnold, Vernon, Roy, Roger and Melvin Johnson; and two sisters, Hildred Wilson and Ruth Call.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel, Waterloo, and will continue for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Hazel was very artistic and was fond of needlework, crocheting, and in her younger years, painting. She also enjoyed playing the accordion and the piano.
