Helen Street, age 96, of Lakewood, Colo., passed away Feb. 1, 2012. She was born Helen Gertrude Jones on Oct. 26, 1915, in Seattle.

She married Richard Street, and after World War II, they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, where Richard went into the insurance business with his uncle, Fred Tesmer (Tesmer, Street and Fritz Insurance). Helen was well-known throughout the Waterloo community for her good works. She had an avid appreciation for the arts and enjoyed painting, modeling, playing bridge, playing tennis, arranging flowers for the gift shop at the local hospital, and other volunteer activities. She moved to Lakewood, Colo., in 1983 to be near her daughters.

She is survived by daughters Ann Rawson and Susan (Don) Osterfelt; grandchildren Misty (Hans) Schwarz, Tim (Carolyn) Rawson, Courtney Osterfelt and Tyler Osterfelt; and great-grandson Calvin Schwarz.

Memorial service 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, Green Mountain Presbyterian Church, 12900 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, CO. Donations to the American Heart Association.
