E. GEORGE TURNER

E. George Turner, 65, of 100 Home Park Blvd., died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday at Allen Memorial Hospital of a coronary.

He was born January 11, 1902, in Aldenshot, England, and came to the United States in 1912. He was born the son of Charles and Francis Love Turner. He married Clara Andrews May 18, 1938, in Nashua.

He was the owner and operator of the Turner Battery Co., 2555 W. 3rd Street.

He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church; Martin Lodge 624, AF&AM; the Tabernacle Chapter; the Ascalon Commandery, No. 25; the Royal Arch Masons of Iowa; past commander of the Knights Templar; the El Kahir Temple of Cedar Rapids; the Bethany White Shrine of Cedar Falls.

He is survived by his widow; one sister, Mrs. Eva Edelen, 806 Kingsley Avenue; and his father Charles Turner, 2539 W. 3rd Street.

He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1962.

Friends wishing can give a memorial to the St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for Saturday morning at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home, where friends may call after noon Thursday.
